Starting Salary Range:  Hourly wage or monthly salary to be determined with Library Board of Trustees                             


To oversee the essential functions of the Library.


  • Assisting Library Board in the creation of an annual Budget and then maintaining said budget.

  • Manage Library personnel including the interviewing and evaluating library staff.

  • Purchase Library materials for circulation, circulation management, office supplies, programing supplies and other items as needed by the library

  • Maintain Library inventory.

  • Maintain Library records.

  • Attend various meetings with Library Board of Trustees, County, District, and State Library employees, and with other City, County and State Officials.

  • Complete all reporting avenues as required to maintain or improve Library standings with the State Library Accreditation Standards.

  • Create and/or enforce current Library policy and procedures.


  • Ability manage library staff.

  • Ability to safely climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, stand, walk throughout library, grasp, and make repetitive motions.

  • Ability to safely reach, lift, carry, push, or move books and other materials weighing up to 50 pounds.

  • Knowledge of the Dewey Decimal System.

  • Abilities to Assist Patrons with light Computing and printing tasks.

  • Knowledge of Window OS, Microsoft Office, and Google Docs and Sheets, Canva, and Prezi and other presentation software.

  • Ability and willingness to learn new computer programs and software with lout assistance.

  • Have Excellent Customer Skills

  • Knowledge of Standard bookkeeping practices.

  • Knowledge and ability to research and write grants that will benefit the Library

  • Have Excellent Research Skills



        High School Diploma or GED. An equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to perform the essential functions of the position.

        An equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to perform the essential functions of the position.

 Required licenses, registrations and certifications:       

        Must obtain Public Library Certification within 2 years of hire, and must maintain Certification by completing required Continuing Education Requirement.  


         Most work is performed inside library.  Work includes sitting at desk for extended periods, reading and reviewing books and other library materials, standing for extended periods; working with computer and other office equipment.  Work may involve frequent interruptions and exposure to dust and fumes.


 Marginal functions of the position that are incidental to the performance of essential job duties have been excluded from this job description.
